Bittorrent faster than YouTube/DailyMotion
Top Gear aired today on BBC 2, after having had a extra break due to Richard Hammonds crash, i thought it would be quite interesting to see how quickly the show would pop up on the internet, since it’s supposed to be viewed by 350 million people i thought it wouldn’t take to long.
I have now had a overview of every single upload to both YouTube and Dailymotion since the show aired (3:30 hours ago) and it still haven’t appeared, however i thought id see if it had appeared on the bittorrent networks, and lo behold, the entire show was already up and available to download.
To summarize: Bittorrent might possibly be the technorati (for news/blogs) when it comes to getting online shows or this was just a coincidence, but still interesting.

Martin: if it’s more than 20 minutes it won’t show up on Daily. Our creative users are psissed off but too many ruthless users publish copyrighted stuff. Series are typically 21 minutes or above so we implemented a time limit that kills TV episodes.
